Ajaccio, the perfect arrival
In spring, no doubt, the city of Ajaccio is the ideal gateway! This beautiful Bay is also one of the most protected and most enjoyable when the weather is not yet completely summer all over the island. Here the beaches are already stormed by the locals who try to bathe, refine their tanning and enjoy the reopening of the huts for lunches by the seaside.
The city of Ajaccio so much to offer, both in terms of cultural discoveries (birthplace of Napoleon, Musée Fesch) and more idle detentes that you are advised to book a hotel in Ajaccio for one or two nights. You will also be very surprised by the gentle atmosphere of this city, a real seaside resort underrated to the tourists and yet so pleasant to live.
Enjoy the still quiet roads
In this time of year (April, may) you will certainly meet some 3rd age buses on the roads of Piana or Bonifacio, but it is still far from the summer traffic. So enjoy to discover these pearls of Corsican tourism. On a long weekend, you will not be able to see everything, so you have to make a choice. If you have opted for Ajaccio, then the good idea is to go and visit the Porto area. Discover the Calanche de Piana away from the crowds, then a small stroll in the village of Porto without forgetting to enjoy an ice cream in Sagone on the way home (one of the best glacier master in France). Alternatively, it is possible to go south to Bonifacio. Note that in April the southernmost city of France is still a little idle. On the other hand, for the bridges of may, most of the activities and visits are possible in the extreme south.

Discover by doing sports
And if you enjoy your long weekend in Corsica to discover the region and indulge in an outdoor sports practice. Corsica is the paradise of nature sports.
If you go to Bonifacio, it is water sports that will attract you. If you opt for Porto and Piana, you will undoubtedly be attracted by the hikes like that of the CAPO Rosso for an incredible view of the Gulf of Porto.
And if you stay on Ajaccio, why not try the strong emotions with for example a via ferrata in Tolla or another half day of canyoning in Southern Corsica? And this is not yet enough, this micro region can offer you trails for trail or mountain biking, rentals for Jet Ski, scuba diving centers, sailing clubs, equestrian centers etc. And don't forget to enjoy the Corsican cuisine to recover from all these emotions!
